Atty. Galahad Pe Benito
He left a thriving and lucrative practice in the United States to come back to his country, the Philippines, and practice environmental law. He has volunteered his expertise to several environmental causes, including the very controversial Manila Bay reclamation project. He is Environmental Legal Counsel of the Greenresearch Environmental Research Group.
Atty. Romeo Capulong
The late attorney was a prominent human rights lawyer who had a long and respectable career. Atty. Capulong fought for the rights of Flor Contemplacion, an overseas Filipino worker accused of killing her ward in Singapore. He led the walkout of the private prosecutors during President Joseph Estrada’s impeachment trial when the second envelope was not opened. He also defended the Batasan 6 and Morong 43.
Justice Hilario Davide, Jr.
He gained national respect when he presided over the impeachment trial of President Estrada. His calm and level-headed handling of the heated and controversial proceedings made him a household name. He is the former Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Philippines to the United Nations in New York. In 2011, he was conferred by Pope Benedict XVI one of the highest honors of the Holy See, the Knight Grand Cross of the Pontifical Order of St. Sylvester.
Atty. Lorna Kapunan
She may have become a household name for defending celebrities in high profile cases, but she is also adept at intellectual property law. She counts James Yap, Rhian Ramos, and Hayden Kho, Jr. as former clients; pork barrel scam queen Janet Lim Napoles was her client for a some time. She also represents the residents of West Tower Condominium in Makati City in their case against First Philippine Industrial Corporation after a massive pipeline oil leak in 2010.
Atty. Katrina Legarda
She is an acknowledged advocate of women’s and children’s rights. She is the founding chairperson of the Child Justice League, dedicated to providing free legal assistance to abused children and children in conflict with the law. She also actively defends her advocacy in various media.
