PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
AHEAD’s basic course on English as a Second Language (ESL) is a three-level course designed for adult learners whose main objective is to survive in an English-speaking community. It covers the two receptive skills of listening and reading, and the two productive skills of speaking and writing. It accommodates both the beginners and advanced learners.
PROGRAM DURATION & SCOPE
Each level of LearnUp’s ESL course runs for one hundred hours. The lessons anchor on day-to-day communicative functions that will make the language learners become communicatively functional in an English-speaking community.
OBJECTIVES
By the end of the program, students shall:
1. be able to speak English with ease and confidence
2. be able to comprehend with high level of accuracy written and spoken English on topics of general interest
3. be able to produce written discourses with high level of accuracy of lexical resource and syntax
4. be able to engage confidently in higher level discussions on general interest and day-to-day living
